There are times when I my uncontrollable thoughts cause me to become anxious. I mentally create scenarios that make me stressed out for no reason.
Last week, I decided that I’d give meditation another try. It hasn’t worked for me in the past because I can’t seem to settle the rambling thoughts in my mind. A friend mentioned the Deepak Chopra and Oprah 21-day Meditation Challenge to me so I decided to give it a try.
For sixteen minutes, I sat still and tuned out the noise around me. Deepak says that if your mind starts to wander, repeat the mantra out loud. It actually worked! I think I can stick to meditating with Deepak and Oprah as my coaches.
Day three was very helpful to me thus far.
Day 3: The Intuition of Your Body
Centering Thought: My mind and my body are in perfect sync.
Our Sanskrit mantra: Sham, Sham, Sham (Repeating “Sham” awakens the third eye chakra, your intuition)
We’re now on Day 17. Check it out if you get a chance.
If you already meditate, how do you settle the rampant thoughts in your mind?
