Last night, my girls and I attended the screening of Breakfast at Tiffany’s at Chastain Park. If you’ve been following my blog for a while, you already know how much I’m obsessed with all things Audrey Hepburn. It only made sense for me to watch the classic film for the millionth time. Surprisingly, I heard lines that I’ve never previously heard. I guess you can hear better from a large projector screen.
Also, my friends and I were discussing the film and we came to the conclusion that Breakfast at Tiffany’s was a pretty racy film material-wise for 1961. I mean, Audrey Hepburn’s character, Holly Golightly, was basically a gold digger. And her friend, Paul, was getting paid to have sex with a married woman. But I digress, LOL.
My favorite part of the whole film is the ending when Paul is basically through chasing after Holly.
You know what’s wrong with you, Miss Whoever-you-are? You’re chicken, you’ve got no guts. You’re afraid to stick out your chin and say, “Okay, life’s a fact, people do fall in love, people do belong to each other, because that’s the only chance anybody’s got for real happiness.” You call yourself a free spirit, a “wild thing,” and you’re terrified somebody’s gonna stick you in a cage. Well baby, you’re already in that cage. You built it yourself. And it’s not bounded in the west by Tulip, Texas, or in the east by Somali-land. It’s wherever you go. Because no matter where you run, you just end up running into yourself.

Here. I’ve been carrying this thing around for months. I don’t want it anymore.
Uh….that’s me. Welp.
I hope you all have an amazing weekend!
