Blog posting FAIL

I was having a conversation with my friend yesterday and he said something that I remembered while writing this post. “Men lie, women lie, numbers don’t.” That’s right, they don’t. And my blog views have been telling the truth. I haven’t really blogged in a while. At least not on a consistent basis like I used to. I found that blogging five days a week was too much. Now I blog when I feel inspired.

I came across a post by one of my good tweeps, GG. When I read it, I said to myself I HAVE to repost it! Like her, I love to write. I love when I feel inspired to write. I love when people are inspired by what I write.

“I love that I’m not able to be dishonest when I write.  I can’t try to fit in or be anyone but who I really am.”

A few friends have suggested that I write about my dating adventures. But I don’t think I’m ready to be that real and because some of those men read my blog. But I’ll try my best to always “keep it real”.

“I write to capture my unique and personal perspective of the human experience.  I’d rather share it than keep it to myself.  It’s easier to sing out loud when someone else is singing with you, right?  So maybe hearing my voice will encourage someone else to sing, too.”

What would you like to read more about and discuss on my blog?

  1. Hey lady! I’m behind on my blog reading, so I’m just seeing this post. I know just how you feel. There’s got to be some balance between writing to an audience and writing what you feel inspired to write. Since WCD is my personal blog, I tend to really stick to what I feeeel like writing but I do always hope that it’s relevant to my readers. As for your question about what we’d like to see more of, I’m always a fan of the honest, raw stuff. LOL.

So many single women are out here dating and could probably relate to some of the things you go through. Maybe there’s a way you could share without giving up too much? something to think about. My co-author on my other blog goes through the same back and forth. Her life gives her material to write about for days, but then she wonders if she should share that much on the blog. I say GO FOR IT! I think that vulnerability is empowering.

  2. There are so many things I want to write about but if I do, I may hurt some people’s feelings in the process. It’s not intentional. But the truth hurts sometimes. I’d rather tell the truth and be free than walk around living a lie. I may post my thoughts. I just have to find the right words.
As always, thanks for your input! You’re an awesome motivator. 🙂
